FOOD! We love it!

HI GALS! Today I'll be talking to you about FOOD,FOOD,FOOD. I'm posting on a Sunday, because that is always the day we spend preparing, planning, and making some of our favorite foods. We wanted to talk about food because we love it. Food is something everyone has to have or should I say eat! Food has so many flavors...sometimes (especially desserts) it will explode your taste buds because it has so many flavors in it. Food is a part of LIFE...you need it...its the one thing everyone has in common. We all LOVE IT AND WE ALL NEED IT!!
...ooops
WHY WE LOVE FOOD...

We love food because it brings joy to our hearts (and mouths). Even an apple is simply wonderful. Food builds traditions, and makes us feel warm inside... If we go way back to the First Peoples, hunting and preparing food was a central part of their lives, not just for survival but it..well..it brought joy to them, and it brought communities together to celebrate and eat. Food was a form of wealth and abundance, to give and to receive, to share and to save for days without abundance.
My favorite part of food, other then deliciousness,
is that I share it with my family, and that is the best part.

MY MOM SAYS TRAVELING = LEARNING ABOUT FOOD IN NEW NEIGHBOURHOODS
.....And other ways to have a tastebud explosion!!!
My family loves to cook, and try new things. We are very lucky in Canada to have so many choices! Sometimes too many choices!

Another fun food time with my family is when we go together to Denman Island to relax and enjoy nature right up close. We always BBQ hotdogs and deep fry fish, and make our mouths super happy with that. I like to make my hotdog a spider dog by cutting the ends and watching them curl up when they cook!
My dad is the best BBQ guy around. He loves to BBQ, and we love to EAT his BBQ!! Today he is BBQing my favorite...steaks! I watch him marinate the meat the day before, and just the smell of the marinade makes my mouth water!

FAMILY FOOD STORIES
My family is not always together, as my older sisters are grown up and gone to school and living far from my home. But, there are lots of times we plan to get together, and the theme of our days together are where we are going to eat, what fab food we can make, and what dad is going to BBQ for us.
This is my ultimate time with my family, because we are not around each other as much, and there is so much laughing and stories while we eat. The food brings memories back from when we were smaller, and everyone has a story about their favorite foods. I learn from their stories, and I try to eat new foods to see if I like them.
OOooohhh Marsala Fries!!
grassroots
My oldest sister Alaia is a chef in Vancouver with her own business called GRASSROOTS
check it out!!

During our visits with her I get to help prep in her kitchen! She teaches me things too. I love to cut up all the veggies and fruit.
But it can get messy sometimes. Like that one time when I was at Alaia's kitchen during Thanksgiving (yummmmmmm), and I was trying to get something in a jar that was behind another jar on a shelf and...I bugged out....'cause instead of getting the jar that I wanted I knocked over the one in front of it. The jar had some type of powder in it so (ends up it was cinnamon..not pepper!!), when it hit the ground it made a BIG mess and I got in trouble...lesson learned "somethings you need help with... so ask for help" or "a small problem can be made into a bigger problem" so remember that it might keep you away from getting in trouble....ask for a hand!
FAMILYFOODFUN+GAMES=LOVE LIFE
We love to have picnics with games like this one time when we were in FULLERTON CALIFORNIA, and we had this picnic with everyone...even my cousins were there. We had TORTILLAS!! Well me and my two cousins (Mateo and Dedic), my Tia Shimen and Tio Edwin, and my sister's boyfriend Max played monopoly
Well, thank you for reading our story about food and why we LOVE IT! :) as always, LIVE LOVE LEARN LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
bye
