LIZARDS!

LIZARDS!
Hey there guys! Once again it's Zavi (Zavien) and today we will be talking about my new fav reptile...*LIZARDS!* I love lizards. Actually just today I found my sweet little Tigger attacking one. He was trying to *EAT* it. So, just before Tigger was about to end the little lizard's life I quickly gently pulled Tigger away and grabbed the lizard, and put him in a cupboard. I know it wasn't nice of me to do that but I did. After that...I went outside and found a cardboard box.

In the terranium box I put: moss (for the base), two rocks and a fake toy lizard. I put the box on the table outside and ran inside to get the lizard out of the cupboard. Once I got to the cupboard I carefully opened it and gently grabbed the lizard and walked up the stairs, opened the door leading outside and put the lizard in the box and put a towel over it so he couldn't climb out. I sat on a chair beside him and thought..."what should I name him".... after a while I finally setteled on Simon. I kept Simon for at least two days. I fed him worms. But I din't what him to start missing his family and friends so I let him go

We have a lot of rocks around our house that heat up in the sun all day, the lizards scurry about big and small alike. Sometimes they are so tiny! You can just barely hear the little scratch of their feet and tails as they rip across all the rocks.

SOME FUN FACTS ABOUT LIZARDS!

Lizards are reptiles, and prefer arid areas, and even live in trees. I have both. There must be a lot of those places to hide in and around down under all the rocks, where the sun heats up the surface, but they are safe below. Since Lizards are cold blooded, they need the sun to heat them up. Some Lizards are carnivors as well, so eat ants, snails and spiders, and termites. (I learned this after I fed him a worm...thought he was a salamander!). There are, however, plant eating lizards (herbavores), that live in the Galagapos Islands, and only eat sea algae. And, some lizards are Omivores, and eat both plants, fruit, and meat.

One fun fact about lizards are their tails! If you try to grab one by the tail, or their tail gets caught, the tail falls off, and they grow back their tail!! The best fun fact, is that the lizard controls the severing himself if he thinks he is going to be on someones's dinner menu!!

Ha Ha!! That's not Simon, and thank goodness! Just joking...!

This lizard is really the closest to the tiny ones running around my yard.Well thats all we have for now, once in a while we will add to it.So you might find something pop up.Anyway,as always LIVE LOVE LEARN LIFE!!!!!
