TRAVELING.....

TRAVELING.....

Hi gals & guys! Today we will talk about traveling! My family loves to travel. We even made up a Nike type name for our selves when we travel. ..it is THE FAYAD FREAKS!

I love to travel. It's how I meet new people, have adventure and see new things. I've bean traveling ever since I was about 1. Now that I've traveled to so many places and done it so many times....I just know how to do it. By that I mean I know how to pack clothes and know what to wear to the airports, how to go to be dressed for that wonderful 4am wake up to catch a 6am flight to see my sisters, and of course, what to bring. I can call myself an expert on what I need for each flight....Headphones! Ipad!! Cuddly blanket, my thermos and a book.

My sisters Shimen, Thana and Alaia who are now in college used to have volley ball tournaments all the time when I was younger, so we were traveling a lot to then as well.
My dad coached my sisters all at one time or another, so we had the obligation to get to every tournament. At first, as we lived on Vancouver Island, it was just to get to Vancouver by ferry. That was a long drive, and a long boat ride, then another long drive. We are lucky to live in a beautiful place, so there was always nice things to look at. Also, the stops along the way were fun and interesting, and never 2 the same. Stops near waterfalls, or parks with many trees for potty breaks! This may sound funny, but I had my own potty in the truck! Sometimes we couldn't stop soon enough, as I was distracted watching out the window or watching my sisters. Or, we were getting on board the ferry, and we couldn't stop at all.

I guess it was so crazy traveling so much that to fit everyone of the freaks in hotel rooms, my special spot was the closet in a crib! Nice and dark, and away from all the noise. I still like to sometimes play in all the cubby holes and closets in hotels, and make up games at the desk like "I'm the Boss!". My mom unplugs the phone, and I set up my office.

My sisters went off to college and Chef schools, and so we got to start traveling farther and farther. I have traveled to all the following places so far:

1. VANCOUVER
2. HAWAII
3. WICHITA
4. LAS VEGAS (seriously...and it was crazy!)
5. SAN FRANSISCO
6. NEWPORT OREGON
7. SAN DIEGO
8. PENTICTON
9. GREAT FALLS MONTANA
10. SEATTLE
11. FULLERTON CALIFORNIA/DISNEY LAND 3 TIMES
Wow! I've been to so many different places that and I didn't even notice, (JK)

Once again, I love traveling. I love traveling so much that I now have a routine once we get into the hotel room or VRBO house. Here it is:

  1. pick a bed (or closet!)
  2. find a good spot for Blue & Jewel (Blue's mom, She holds all my clothes and googles!).
  3. unpack NEATLY into drawers (can't help it!)
  4. find the desk
  5. unplug phone and play office (for about 3 mins.)
  6. play in the closet with Blue.

(Not me..but in my mind this is what I get to experience!)

I wonder, have you traveled far? Have you experienced U.S. Customs? Let me tell you what I know for sure:
YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO TALK DURING CUSTOMS CROSSINGS!

Just saying: I have crossed the border with my parents and family MANY times. The one thing I know is " Be Quiet". I don't know why, but I trust my instructions. My guess is that little kids make trouble for the Big Parent when they ask did you tell them about the things you bought?! One time, I know it was because my mom wanted me to have a snack during our travels, and she forgot she had an orange in her bag, and we ALL had to go through customs search, and have our NEXUS cards jeapordized. But! I ask you, I buy the orange in the store and it came from California....what's the diff? Tell me!!

Anyhow, I am truly lucky. I get to experience a lot of fun traveling to visit my family, especially in Vancouver and California. My favorite thing is "where to eat next!". My family loves food. For instance, my one sister lives in Vancouver, so Dim Sum at the best restaurants is always a must. My other sister lives in Fullerton California, so Mexican delight is the next stop after landing. Yummmmmm, Tacos! My other sister lives in San Diego, and snacks near her university close to the beach is my favorite stop to surf and eat more and more. I am so lucky. In California, the best stop is the orange trees for a snack! Pick them and eat fresh.

My final FAVORITE place is Hawaii. Because my sisters had to train and try out for scholarships for their university, we HAD to travel to Hawaii. Then, to make it even better, the teams they played on played in Hawaii. For me, traveling there is like being a mermaid for real.

Any trip I had to travel to I have lived a wonderful adventure. I am World Smarter, well packed, and know how to rearrange any hotel room. I know how to talk to the stewardesses, and even pilots. I know how to navigate on a big ferry, and know my location at all times. I also know how to occupy my time well when travel plans are not going as planned. Plus...I have more fun then anyone I know. I get to meet a lot of people, and swim in pools, and eat great food. Plus...I know how to say thank you in many languages!! Smiling is Free! Well, thats all we have for now. We hope you enjoyed reading about all my travels..anyway as always LIVE LOVE LEARN LIFE!!!
